Equipment Progression
Elethor gear is not a smooth scale of progression, where one item you find might be 1% better than the last item, ad infinitum. Instead, gear progression is based around a set of tiers, each with increasing room for upgrades, as well as better base stats to work with.
Once you get a piece of gear, that is only the beginning. There are various ways to upgrade each piece of equipment to tailor it to your use case, as well as maximize stats.
Equipment Tiers
Each increasing tier of gear costs more to reinforce, both in gold as well as item requirements. For each tier, the weapon has +1 possible reinforcement than the armor. There are also items in between tiers. For example Augments are typically used for more than one tier and have different reinforcements available.
